Scuba diving tours

Scuba diving tours are usually sponsored by companies or hotels and consist of several days or a week of scuba diving at either one specific location or several closely located diving spots.

Scuba diving tours can take you too many exciting places such as hunts for sunken treasures in ships that wrecked at sea or planes that crashed in the oceans. Of course these are all sanctioned by whatever government the wrecks are located under. And permission is given to the tour guides ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about getting into any trouble for diving near them.

Many all inclusive resorts have separate tour packages that allow you to go on a scuba diving tour around the many small islands near Hawaii which are beautiful and have crystal clear waters, perfect for scuba diving tours. Many of the tour guides are locals and have been taking people on tours for many years; the only thing you have to watch out for is that they are certified dive experts. It’s not enough to have experience alone, they need to have an up-to-date certification because there are periodically updates to the rules and regulations of scuba diving and the divers must all know these.

Warm water scuba diving tours such as those in the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia, or in the Mediterranean Sea are best because the waters are so clear you can see the underwater wildlife up-close and in full color, the way nature intended it to be. These are also great places for underwater photographers. Other places can be a bit murky and not as well viewed; especially if there has been a lot of activity in the area such as boats or people moving the sand and particles around. Some waters are just naturally clearer than others and the tour guides will know where they are and how deep to go to find them.

Cold water scuba diving tours such as ones that take you near the Antarctic are very different and you see much different types of wildlife – fish and such – and plant life. You will have to purchase or rent cold water gear that is specifically made for cold water scuba diving and special breathing apparatus, but it’s not hard to find.

Scuba diving tours can be found off the Gulf Cost near Texas, Mexico, Florida Keys and the Carolina’s. There are scuba diving tours along each coasts, California and up near New York and New Jersey where many ships wreaked during the civil war and are still there today. Tour guides will take you down to the ships and allow you to explore what is left of these near ancient relics rusted by centuries of submersion.

Going on a scuba diving tour is a good idea because you always want to dive with a partner or a group of people and many of the tour guides are certified in medical training as well as scuba diving. You want someone like that with you incase of an emergency.
